Fredensborg Herrgård is located in the midst of beautiful natural surroundings typical of Småland, alongside the Tobo Golf Course. So there is every opportunity of finding something to do. You’ll find excellent walking and cycling tracks around the forest and the lake, and in the winter there are skiing tracks
Just 200m from the hotel, we have our own jetty on Lake Gissen. Here, you can take a dip and warm up again in our sauna. A fine child-friendly beach runs alongside the beautiful sandy shallows and you can borrow a rowboat for a trip out on the lake. Enjoy the idyllic environment!
Mini golf, tennis, cycling and golf are just some of the activities our visitors have access to, and for our little guests there is also a playground, no-touching-the-ground course, football pitch and much more. Inside the hotel, our Bullerbyn lounge has pool tables, darts, a big screen TV and, during the summer, a children’s playroom and at certain times, indoor hockey and table tennis rooms.
Astrid Lindgren’s World is of course a special attraction that draws many to our area. And Astrid's childhood home, Näs is a place we strongly recommend as well. All this and much more can be found in Vimmerby, just 10 km away. Fredensborg is also quite close to the locations used for the filming of “The Children of Noisy Village” (Bullerbyn) and “Emil i Lönneberga” (Katthult). And if you decide to go to Katthult you’ll also almost be in Mariannelund where Barnfilmbyn (the Children’s Film Village) is under construction and where you’ll also find Mariannelunds karamellkokeri – the Mariannelund Sweet Factory.
Just outside Vimmerby, you’ll find the Virum Moose Park where you can get really close to these mighty animals. And if you want to, you can even get a kiss from bull-moose Harald!
